Schools back already?

Well, I think that this was the shortest summer ever. I know that there was the about the same number of days as last year but holy cow it felt like it was over before it started. Time is moving fast by the moment.

Well here's how our back to school day went.
Arrie headed out first on her first day of HIGH SCHOOL.
(If you can't tell I'm freaking out a little that I have a child in high school, I was just in high school a minute ago wasn't I?)She loves high school. She made the freshman volleyball team so she must take after my side of the family. Uncle Glen is excited to share his love for volleyball with another niece.

Kory is excited to be in 6th grade this year. He has the teacher he wanted and is the most excited because we said he could start tackle football now that he's in 6th grade. He love it of course. Robert couldn't be a prouder papa when all the coaches keep talking about how good he is. It looks like he will get to be a QB and maybe a wide receiver.
Aaron is enjoying 4th grade with his new teacher. He said she plays the piano and is going to teach them some songs and he can't be happier. He'll be playing fall baseball this year and has his first game tomorrow.

Well, after a fun but quick summer it's time to get back to reality running kids all over. It should be a fun year.

Camping on the Beach

Well, I think it's about time that I blogged about our camping trip in California.
We had planed on going out to visit Robert's brother Cookie and we all decided to go camping on the beach near Santa Cruz.
The first night we got there we hiked over to the beach and just walked around. Then we went and dinner in Santa Cruz and walked along the boardwalk.
On Friday we spent most of the day at the beach. Robert and Gina spent some time looking for shell and sand dollars. We all found a ton of them.

Cookie took spent most of our time at the beach napping, not a bad idea.

Arrie took her friend Amanda with her. They had a blast.

All the kids spent part of the day making sand castles.

Always a great beach activity.
Of course they all spent some time jumping in the waves.

Aaron loved running in and out of the ocean.

Ryan needed a rest so he took a rest on Arrie.

What's better than a sand blanket. It was a little cold that day.

It is a little dirty to use a sand blanket.

We went back to the beach after dinner to watch the sunset.

Arrie was so excited to have an opportunity to get her school clothes shopping done in California so she could have different choices then at home. On Monday we spent seven hours shopping. It was exhausting!
We had a great time but it's nice to be home.
