Vegas Bowl

We had a fun weekend. Robert took the boys to the Vegas Bowl so Arrie and I tagged along for the fun of it. We left on Friday after the kids got out of school. We beat the storm out which is good. We went to Cheesecake Factory for my birthday dinner and it was yummy. We went to say hi to our niece that lives in Vegas. We hung out with them for a while. We went with them to the mall for a while and then thAustraliant to to game and we girls went to see Astrailia (or as Arrie kept saying "Africa") Arrie and I both liked it. Arrie was even crying at parts and then sitting on the edge of her seat, she is fun to go to the movies with, you can always tell how much she likes it. Saturday we got up and walk around the strip a little and came home. It was a quick weekend but we had a good time.

Arrie got to play "Big" at the FAO Swarts toy store.

Record Night

Last night I had my work Christmas party. We went bowling with all the offices and the construction company that my boss owns. If anyone has been bowling with me they know that it is something I just do for fun. Roberts not to bad and I have only beaten his score like twice in our whole marriage. My boss likes to make it extra fun and give money for best score for guys, best score for girls, worst score for both guys and girls and then he pays everyone for the total score. He also came up to every wife and told them if they beat there husbands they would get an extra bonus. Well Robert and I showed up exhausted because Kory had been up all night sick. I had only gotten a few hours of sleep. Even though I took the day off work I was just as busy as ever so I didn't get a nap. For some reason it looks like I bowl better when I have had no sleep. In 15 years I have only beat Robert in bowling twice. Last night I beat him twice! Not only did I beat Robert but with my score of 145 I beat everyone there. I still can't believe that I bowled so well. It was defiantly a record night.

Swing Pups

Kory joined a after school group called Swing Pups. He got to learn about swing and ball room dancers from the Provo High Varsity Ballroom team. He got to preform the dances he learned on Saturday at the Provo High dance performance. He did a good job and I'm proud of him for getting out of his comfort zone. He usually only likes to be in front of a large group if there is some sort of ball involved.

Christmas is coming

You know Christmas is coming when Grandma Hernandez gives in and makes tamales. It is not a small event. She spends two days cooking. One day to make the masa and the meat and one day to assemble. Aaron is grandma's big helper in the kitchen lately and so he jumped right in to help out and learn how to put tamales together. So in our house it is the first sign that Christmas is really coming.

Joseph B. Wirthlin

Joseph B. Wirthlin died last night in his sleep. He went to his office yesterday and than peacefully passed away in his sleep at 91 years old. What a blessing to be able to be active right up until the end. He will be missed. I put a link to a great talk he gave in the last conference. I really enjoyed it.
