Iowa Testing

In school the kids take a lot of tests. One of these is the Iowa Testing. Most of the time you don't get to know the scores but my cute little Kory came home today with a "Certificate of Outstanding Preformance" for his Iowa testing in Math. He is really quite excited. Good job Kory! I guess he's not going to be just a dumb jock.

Always changing

One thing about being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that as soon as your comfortable with a calling you get the oppurtunity to try something new. As everyone knows I've been teaching Gospel Docterine in my ward and I have loved it. I have had so many spirital experiances with that calling. My testimony has grown so much from studing the scriptures and presenting lessons to my class. The class has been so amazing and there are the most thoughtful comments every week that really make me think. Even the weeks I didn't teach being in the class has been great. But as I have learned you never can get to comfortable in a calling. I was asked to go and see the the first counselor today and to bring Robert. I took a deep breath and went to the church. I've have had a funny feeling that something was coming because after getting released from Scouts a few weeks ago I tried to sign up for a class some where and what ever I tried it just didn't work out or feel right. As I sat in the class room with the bishopric member and Robert I was a little surprise at what he asked. "Sis. ________ knows you don't want to be released from you calling as Gospel Doctrine teacher but we would like to ask you to be the first counselor in the Primary." Well this is not at all what I expected. I've never been in a Primary presidency but I have served as a teacher and in achievement days and in cub scouts. Well I did accept this new challenge. It will be exciting to serve the young kids in our ward, I know that they have a lot they will teach me.

Wii fun

One of the kids got a game "Outdoor Challenge" for the Wii for Christmas. We have been having fun tonight playing some of the games and seeing who gets the best score. There is one where you sprint to see who finishes the fastest, I have the best score right now with 13 sec. My legs are burning and I will be feeling it tomorrow but it is fun. It's so nice that you can have video games now that get you moving more than just your thumbs.

Welcome 2009

We had a fun time welcoming in the new year. Roberts brother and his family and our best friends came over to eat to much and play games. It was a little strange because we let Arrie go to her friends house so she wasn't home. We played "Pop Culture". It was way funny, my sister-in-law and her daughters are good crazy. We laughed a lot and eat to much.
It is so odd that another year has passed us by. Life moves so fast and my kids just won't stop getting so big. It's so wonderful to see them grow into wonderful people. They are great to have around.
I so enjoyed getting to teach The Book of Mormon in gospel doctrine this year. It will be fun to learn more about the Doctrine and Covenants this year. It's becoming one of my favorite callings. Who would have thought something that sounded so scary to me could be so enjoyable. Luckily I have a great class that share the best comments.
I'm not sure all that this year will bring to me. I know I will get a high school student, a 12 year old son who will get the priesthood and my baby is getting so tall it's hard to call him a baby. I look forward to all the adventures that the Lord has is store for me this year and will keep you updated with all the excitement.

Merry Christmas

We have had a wonderful Christmas. Last night Roberts family and my parents came over and we enjoyed a Delicious dinner. We acted out the Christmas story from the Bible. We only have four kids here this year so Arrie was Mary, Anthony was Joseph, Aaron was a shepperd and Kory our only wise man. We sang Christmas carols and then opened presents from the family. We draw names in Roberts family and everyone give one gift to the person that they draw. Grandma and Grandpa Hernandez open all there gifts.

Kory got to play Santa this year. What a cute Santa.

We had a nice morning. The kids came in and woke us up at 6 am. They must have been good this year because they got a lot of nice things. After opening presents I made a huge breakfast and we sat down and ate. Since then the kids have been enjoying there gifts. Robert and I have even found time to take a little nap. We are heading out in a minute to go and see "Bedtime Story". It looks like a fun movie so hopefully we will enjoy it. I hope everyone had a wonderful day. This is a wonderful time of year to remember the Savior by spending time with friends and family.
Arrie got a cute new snow boarding outfit.

Kory got a phone, he is so happy.

Aaron got the UB Funkies game he wanted, and lots of other fun things.

Vegas Bowl

We had a fun weekend. Robert took the boys to the Vegas Bowl so Arrie and I tagged along for the fun of it. We left on Friday after the kids got out of school. We beat the storm out which is good. We went to Cheesecake Factory for my birthday dinner and it was yummy. We went to say hi to our niece that lives in Vegas. We hung out with them for a while. We went with them to the mall for a while and then thAustraliant to to game and we girls went to see Astrailia (or as Arrie kept saying "Africa") Arrie and I both liked it. Arrie was even crying at parts and then sitting on the edge of her seat, she is fun to go to the movies with, you can always tell how much she likes it. Saturday we got up and walk around the strip a little and came home. It was a quick weekend but we had a good time.
Arrie got to play "Big" at the FAO Swarts toy store.
